FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Transloading
Q01
What is transloading?
Transloading is transferring freight from one transportation mode or vehicle to another, typically from an ocean container onto domestic trucks. We unload your container, palletize and sort the freight, and reload it onto outbound trucks bound for FBA, retail DCs, or your own facilities.
Q02
How much does transloading cost in Houston?
It depends on whether the container is floor-loaded or palletized and how many destinations the freight splits into. A one-to-one container-to-truck transload is cheaper than storage-based programs since freight never goes on a rack. Contact us for a custom quote.
Q03
What's the difference between transloading and cross-docking?
Cross-docking moves already-palletized freight truck-to-truck with minimal handling. Transloading reconfigures the freight: unloading floor-loaded containers, palletizing, splitting by SKU or destination, and reloading. Imports arriving at Port Houston almost always need transloading.
Q04
How close are you to Port Houston?
Less than 10 minutes. Our warehouse at 9100 Galveston Rd is one of the shortest drayage runs from the port, which cuts drayage cost and helps you avoid demurrage and detention fees.
Q05
Can you transload directly to Amazon FBA?
Yes. We palletize and label to Amazon's requirements and ship straight into FBA: carton labels, Amazon-spec pallets, and appointment scheduling included. Freight needing more prep flows into our FBA prep service under the same roof.
